Measurement of the Educated Women to Urban Indefensible Spaces Case Study: Students of Tabriz University
The sense of security in urban spaces is one of the important issues of urban life; if urban space induces a feeling of fear and insecurity in citizens then space will become indefensible. Some urban spaces induce fear and insecurity for all citizens. Therefore the feeling of fear in urban spaces is more for women than men. Women attitude for urban spaces are different from men's attitudes and unsafe spaces have special characteristics for women. This paper aims to exploring attitudes of female students of Tabriz University to insecure and indefensible city spaces. The research is descriptive – analytical that data were collected through questionnaires. Statistical society was female students of Tabriz University and the sample consisted of 100 students that were selected randomly. Statistical analysis of the results of the questionnaires done in the SPSS software by using ANOVA, T-Test one sample, Kendall and Spearman correlation test. The results show those urban spaces such as a dim, dark, isolated, narrow and half – deserted spaces Inducing fear in women. On the other hand there is an inverse relationship between fear and level of education. This means that increasing education instilling fear among women.
