A Comparitive Study of Personality Traits in Prostitute and Non-prostitute Women in Khorramabad

This research aimed to study comparitively personality traits in prostitute and non-prostitute women in Khorramabad. Using convenience sampling method¡ 18 participants were selected among the prostitute women who were referred to Taranom Maintenance Institute in Khorramabad city. The non-prostitute counterparts were also selected among ordinary women in Khorramabad city. All participants were asked to complete the NEO Personality Inventory-Revised (NEO-PI-R). The data were analyzed by conducting Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANONA). The results showed that there is a significant difference between these two groups regarding the traits such as openness to experience¡ agreeableness and conscientiousness. In other words¡ compared with the ordinary women¡ prostitutes showed lower scores in the traits including openness to experience¡ agreeableness and conscientiousness. However¡ there was no differences between the groups regarding the traits of neuroticism and extroversion.
