Explaining the relationship between social capital and readiness for institutional actions of economic development in Brijand

The multidimensional pattern of social capital demonstrates the increasing attention paid on social and institutional agents in multi disciplinary studies in recent decades and, therefore is an example of paradigmatic shift from hard variables into soft ones in social theories.
The theoretical framework of this article is a modulating approach including culturalism theory, institutionalist economics perspectives and social institutionalism. These are significant paradigms of social capital, culture, institutes and development and covering theorists such as Max Weber, Douglass North, Oliver Williamson, Robert Putnam and, Nan Lin. These approaches are samples of shared theoretical framework and relating classic sociological vision to the new school of institutionalism economics. This research is conducted by quantitative perspective and survey technique. Based on the major concepts of the two aforementioned approaches and according to the studied statistical population, we have developed and applied some indexes. Using the Kukran formula, first we selected 400 residents of Birjand as our sample population and, then interviewed people between the ages 15-64.
The findings demonstrate that there is a high potential of social capital and readiness for institutional actions for economic development among them.
