Hesitant fuzzy compromise group decision-making model by considering the weight of decision-makers to assess safety risks of production projects (shipbuilding industry)

Shipbuilding industry plays a main role in trade and international transportation. Ship production projects known as one of the most dangerous industries due to use of heavy equipment and complex manufacturing processes. Thus, elaborating an appropriate model is more required to assess the safety risks and for identifying the most dangerous risks for human resources and production processes. In this study, a group decision-making model is proposed based on hesitant fuzzy sets to evaluate the safety risks in ship production projects. The hesitant fuzzy set theory is considered because of the increasing uncertainty in recognizing the safety risks. In the hesitant fuzzy approach, a set of membership degrees is considerd instead of taking a membership degree for an element to cover the existed uncertainty and to decrease the errors. In the proposed model, the weight of each expert is obtained based on proposed preference selection index method and then the identified risks are ranked. Finally, an application example in shipbuilding industry is considered to demonstrate the validity of the proposed model by comparing the proposed approach with two decision-making methods from the literature. In addition, the comparing of computational results indicate that the proposed model has high performance in imprecise situations.
