Determine the prevalence and risk of of musculoskeletal disorders in employees of an industrial unit

musculoskeletal disorders are one of the most common occupational injuries in industrialized and developing countries. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and risk of musculoskeletal disorders in employees of an oil company.
In this cross-sectional study, all 35 staff of Isomax unit of an oil company participated. Nordic questionnaire used to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and RULA and REBA methods used to assess the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
Most of the workers of Isomax unit had disorders in low back (22.4%) and least of them in the elbow region (1.4%). There was a significant correlation between age and experience and musculoskeletal disorders (P Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the risk and prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in the studied population, especially in operation workers, is high and there is a need for ergonomic intervention.
