The Effect of Government and Households Sports Expenditure to Gross Domestic Product in Iran

Different research studies indicate that the sport can affect in different ways on economy and have significant role to the growth and development of economies. One of the positive effects of sport is the impact on gross domestic product, therefore the purpose of the present study was investigating the effect of government and household sport's expenditure to gross domestic product Iran, during the years 1984-2012. Econometrics method and model of ordinary least squares (OLS) and Eviews software (8) are used, and required information have been collected from the Management and Planning Organization, Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Central Bank of Iran. The results showed a significant positive effect on household spending and government exercise coefficient (0/028765) on Gross Domestic Product (GDP), whereas considering logarithmic nature of the model, this result means that one percent increase in the cost of government and households, assuming fixing other control variables, is equal to 0/029percentage increase in GDP.
