The Comparison of the visual memory functions between heroin abusers and normal Individuals

The aim of current study was to investigate visual memory functions in heroin abusers and normal Individuals.
The method of research was causative-comparative that two groups of heroin abuse is normal Individuals. Statistical population this research consist of in Gonabad city heroin users in 1391 that referred to the Centre for Addiction Treatment Ghonabad. Finally, 30 patients of heroin abuse were selected according to available sampling. The comparison group consisted of 30 normal individuals in terms of age, gender and education groups were matched. To collect data, Rey-Sterrieth Complex Figure Test was used. Data analyzed with Spss software. For data Analyzing used of Multivariate Analysis.
Findings: The results of the present study showed that individuals of heroin abusers had more difficulties in visual memory and gained lower scores in all three stages performances compared to the normal group.
Chronic use of drugs, including impairment and cognitive impairment in visual memory function is associated with a person. Therefore, rehabilitation programs that are considered to improve the conditions and treatment addicts, it is necessary to be noted to these types of deficits and to formulate programs for reduce it.
