Etymology of Jirofti words

Jirofti is one of the new dialects of Iran that is spoken in city of Jiroft in Kerman province. Phonetic characteristics and grammatical structure of this dialect show that it belongs to Southwest's branch of Iranian languages. The purpose of this paper is to provide the etymology of some Jirofti words. Under each item, with the hypothetical species of ancient Iranian and its equivalent in the middle languages and other dialects of Kerman province, the etymology of the word is described. Then, phonetic changes and morphological structure of each item has been explained. Etymological studying of this dialect shows that Iranian dialects have many similarities which have been derived from the ancient Persian language. In some words of this dialect consonants, prefixes and suffixes of ancient Iranian have changed in the Middle Persian and then in new Persian have remained the same. Words have been arranged based on English alphabet and their common pronunciation in Jirofti dialect.
