Archetype of Woman in Alizadeh's Works

Abstract:
Myth has had an Ideological mechanism in contemporary narrative. Due to its explanatory capacity, it mainly seeks to explain and demonstrate unknown and primitive issues, especially the infinite and holy ones; as a consequence, it takes a vague and paradoxical property. However, it has other properties such as plot, coherence, and totality which could be applied to configure dispersed events. When myth is used in narrative (especially ideological narrative), it changes into a set of verbal and visual allusions to clarify its meaning. Ghazzaleh Alizadeh is one of the female writers who has tried to demonstrate myth through language and symbol. As a result, myth has targeted, feminist and sometimes aesthetic functions in her works. Myth has not been applied to give a mythical property to the plots of her stories. Contrarily, myth mainly functions as a catalyst in her works to explain and complete the narrative content. This paper was an attempt to explore Alizadeh’s works for mythical processing, functions, and purposes with a focus on the archetype of woman. Her works were investigated in the thematic, narrative and linguistic levels.
