The Demarcation of Educational Spheres: Why and How, and Presenting an Analytical Model

Educational "spheres" is a far-reaching subject in the literature of today's science of education, which prepares the ground for more precise studies in the various dimensions of human education. Despite the importance of this scientific domain on the one hand and propounding the various spheres of human education on the other hand, the criterion for demarcation of those spheres has been of little concern; and this has caused the common classifications in the studies on the spheres of education to suffer from some serious drawbacks – at least from the viewpoint of religious education. The common classifications are largely based on one-dimensional, secular, humanistic, and divisionist views with a scattering nature, and suffer from five drawbacks: narrowness, evading content, evading education, evading partition, and evading unity.
The present study is seeking to study human being from three aspects of ontology, anthropology, and education to present a criterion for determining certain spheres and demarcating them based on religious concepts in a way that it may be free from the abovementioned drawbacks. In this study, the following twelve criteria have been investigated: human's position in the universe; the philosophy of education; the purpose of education; perfection and climax; human characteristics; the three sides of insight, trend and action; the dimensions of human existence; human needs; human weaknesses; human capabilities; human relations; and educational musts.
