Seroepidemiology of toxoplasmosis in cattle of industrial and traditional farms of Kurdistan province

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic disease with global distribution. Because of the importance of the disease, it is necessary to investigate the prevalence of T. gondii infection in meat producing animals especially cattle which constitutes the main source of meat for local consumption. This study was carried out to determine the seroepidemiology of toxoplasmosis in cattle of industrial and traditional farms of Kurdistan province by ELISA method using commercial kits in 2012. Out of 704 serum samples collected, 21.02% was found to be Toxoplasma gondii infection positive in cattle.
