The structural model of the relationship between religious beliefs, psychological pleasure and mental health in students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural model of the relationship between religious beliefs, psychological pleasure, and mental health in students. The statistical population of this study were all of students of University of Isfahan among whom 148 students were selected through convenience sampling as the sample of the study. Religious attitude questionnaire, Snaith - Hamilton Pleasure Scale (SHAPS), and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28), were used as the instruments of the study. Data were analyzed by path analysis. Based on the results, the structural model of the relationship between religious beliefs, psychological pleasure and mental health, was confirmed through goodness of model fit in fitness indexes. Based on this model, psychological pleasure is a meditative variable in the relationship between religious beliefs and mental health. Probable explanations have been discussed.
