Investigation on Quality of Mineral Springs and Determination of Pollution Sources Using GIS

Nowadays Water insufficiency in Tehran is an important problem Because of increasing of population and its special climatic conditions. For this reason, we must pay attention to underground waters as a main source of water supply.
In this research, all springs located in the east part of Tehran province were identified and the springs, which have been used by Water and Wastewater Company of Tehran, were investigated. For this purpose, 20 physical, chemical parameters and 5 microbial parameters of 5 springs were assessed and were compared together.
Results show that the quality of all springs is according to conventional drinking water quality standards and there are some problems in microbial quality, which that is due to anthropogenic pollution and un-sanitation of springs.
