Evidence-based approach in medical sciences with an emphasis on its importance in nursing education
One of the recent trends in medical education curriculum is the use of evidence in decision making. Evidence-based education means the integrity of professional knowledge with the best available empirical evidence in decision making about what instruction is done. This article has been developed to explain the importance of evidence-based education in medical sciences and particularly in nursing.
Material and
This study is a review article based on the information and data, which is published in the internet, journals and associated researches (2000- 2012).
Evidence-based nursing is the process as an approach to health care based on the latest findings is discussed in recent years, and now as an essential component of education and care, is proposed. During this process, the nurse can use the evidence, available research, clinical expertise and patient function, to make appropriate clinical decisions. In recent years Evidence-based practice is considered as a solution to solve medical problems in all disciplines such as nursing science. This article is discussed partly on the evidence- based education in medical sciences and especially in nursing.
According to given the importance of using the best available scientific evidence on the health service, it is essential to nursing students, nurses and nurse educators to become familiar with the benefits and how to implement this teaching approach. Also, it is suggested that this method is applied in the classroom and clinical practice by nursing students, nurses and nurse educators.
