Nurse's status social responsibility and its relationship with some demographics profile

Social responsibility is decision makers’ commitment to actions that in addition to meet their interests, provides and enhances well-being in community. Demographic profiles affect social responsibility. The aim of this study was to determine the status of nurses’ social responsibility and its relationship to some demographic profile.
This study was a cross-sectional study, conducted in 1394. Using stratified proportional random sampling, 148 nurses were selected in educational and treatment centers of Hamadan University of medical sciences. The research instrument was questionnaire which had two parts including demographic and social responsibility questionnaire. In this study Validity and reliability was confirmed and reliability was 0.86. Data analysis was performed with Spss version 16. Ethical considerations were applied.
Based on the findings 72.6% of nurses were at high level of total responsibility. The average of total responsibility were (7/3± 4/0). There were significant relation between nurses’ social responsibility with their age and marital status (p Since the relationship between social responsibility and some features shown, so it is necessary that demographic profiles to be considered in selection nurses for the crucial responsibilities in educational and treatment centers.
