Paradoxical Images in Motnabi's Peoms

The present research is an attempt to study paradoxical images as a way of artsitic, pictorial, interpretive and semantic statement in Abutayyeb Motnabi’s poems. Paradox is one of the strong and dynamic bases of art and live imagination in Motnabi. His paradoxical rhetoric images show a rudimantary connection with meaning. As a whole, we can find two kinds of concurrent paradoxes in his language: 1. Pictorial and poetic paradox, 2. Interpretive and semantic paradoxes. Paradox is so important in Motnabi’s language that it is considered his poetic quiddity. Not only has not he become unaware of this method of convey, but also he has used it a lot. The present study’s methodology is analyticalÜdescriptive and scrutinizes Motnabi’s poetic and semantic paradox in his 82 poems in order to depict their representations and frequencies.
