Abstract:
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness training on Impulsivity and Emotional instability in men with borderline personality disorder. The study was an experimental research, pretest post- test with a control group. The sample consisted of 30 men who referred to a psychiatric center in the north of the country and were selected by available sampling. They assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 experimental and 15 controls) randomly .To collect the data, Bart impulsivity scale(Paton, Estanford & Bart,1995), Emotional instability questionnaire (Gratz & Romse, 2004) were used. The experimental group received eight sessions of mindfulness training and the control group received no specific training and members of their group discussed about social issues. The subjects in both groups responded to the questionnaire before and after the intervention. In order to analyze the data ANCOVA were used.
