The Explanation of the Meaning of Life in Nahj al-Balagha in Order to Deduce Its Educational Principles

This study, while explaining the meaning of life and accepting the principle of a meaningful life, and in the light of theism and death awareness, seeks to investigate Imam Ali’s view on the meaning of life, and to deduce some educational principles from his view. The research method of this study for answering the questions includes a deductive analysis and a practical inductive method as well as Frankena’s reconstructed pattern. The findings show that a meaningful life in Imam Ali’s view is completed with a look at secularism, the hereafter and death awareness; on this basis, the educational principles such as the development of Allah-seeking nature, responsibility, the modification of attitude to verses, etc. are derived from Nahj al-Balagha .
