Designing Basij’s Empowerment Model for Role-Playing in Economic Jihad

The purpose of this study is to explain the nature of economic Jihad and the important and effective role of Basij in the economic jihad (by mobilizing popular capacities) to formulate a pattern of Basij empowerment in the development of economic jihad. To collect data two tools of library studies and interviews were applied. The target population of the study is the members of the Basij, based on theoretical saturation approach, 26 interviews with Basiji faculty members in the two areas of management and economics. The raw data obtained from the research stages were coded and categorized by using content analysis method. Consequently, the model of Basij empowerment was formulated in the context of economic Jihad. This model includes three main strategies (background empowerment, organizational empowerment, human empowerment) and six strategies (state policy change, juridical-legal change, social integration, infrastructure development, structural transformation, supportive-promotional role), each of which includes a set of executable programs. By utilizing and implementing the above model, a great step towards Basij empowerment can be taken, and results would be the realization of economic Jihad and self-sufficiency of the country.
