The study of Relationship between Modern Communication Technologies and Religious Identity Reflexivity among the Youth, Tehran

Abstract:
The expansion of information and communication technologies (ICT) has given an active and mostly conscious and reflexive feature to the identity process by mass supply of social and cultural resources of identity, the extension of social relationships and group membership, and the promotion of values, norms, and innovative thoughts. This article, therefore, aims to study the role of modern ICT in religious identity reflexivity among the youth in Tehran, Iran. A survey study was performed. Clustering sampling method was employed. Were used from questionnair for data collection and were assessed cronbach alpha questionnair new thechnology 0.8 and questionnair identity reflexivity 0.79. Findings show that modern ICTs have a positive and direct relationship with religious identity reflexivity. Various dimensions of modern ICTs determine 23.0% of variance for religious identity reflexivity. According to standardized beta coefficients, satellite (β=0.40) and Internet (β=0.24) have the highest share in explaining religious identity reflexivity.
