Identification of the relationship between librarian's job satisfaction and public library enduser's satisfaction: the case of Zanjan public libraries

The objective of this applied study is to identify the relationship between librarian's job satisfaction and user's satisfaction of public libraries in Zanjan province.
This survey was carried out by a researcher-made questionnaire. All 123 librarians were examined. Multistage cluster sampling method was chosen to sample from fifty thousand users, so 384 questionnaires were distributed. Statistical analysis methods such as Pearson, Spearman, etc were used and the data were analyzed by SPSS software.
Findings: The results showed that the level of librarian's job satisfaction in the aspect of the relationship between governance and supervision, social status, extracurricular activities and wages and salary, with job satisfaction approved with 99 percents confidence. In the aspect of organizational culture and the relationship between librarian's job satisfaction and user's satisfaction, the hypothesis did not approved. So librarian's job satisfaction is at a low level in relation to the five components of this study (organizational culture, governance and supervision, training and extracurricular activities, content and status of jobs, wages and salary system) and the librarian's job satisfaction has little or no effect on the users satisfaction.
