DIGAR from another perspective; a Cognitive view

The purpose in writing this article is to Cognitively survey the meanings and concepts of the word DIGAR in the Persian language. In order to reach the result, in this research, in the framework of Cognitive Linguistics, we have made use of the concepts and topics of Langacker’s Cognitive Grammar and Fauconnier’s Mental Spaces Semantics to provide a facet for the conceptualization in the word DIGAR. The studied data have been some excerpts from real contexts. In the history of the research, having shown the weak points of the traditional analyses, the meanings and concepts extracted out of the Cognitive approach for DIGAR have been provided. For DIGAR the concepts of separation or differentiation (non-identicality); identicality in (a) characteristic(s) despite differences in other characteristics, aggregation (congregation), simultaneous differentiation and congregation have been extracted.
