An Analysis of Land Use in Tabriz Metropolis (Case study: 8th District of Tabriz Metropolis)

Today, the concept of land and urban space has both qualitatively and physically and socioeconomically changed and as a result, the dimensions and objectives of land use have been widespread and enriched. Therefore, the use of land and space as a general, vital and public wealth must be done under the principle of systematic planning. An analysis of land use in Tabriz Metropolis is the main objective of this research. The method of this research is descriptive-analytic. To collect information from library resources, a questionnaire was used. As a result of the selection of users and comparing existing uses with standards and per capita quantitatively, questionnaires were distributed among citizens (274) and urban experts (25) and the required information (strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats) was compiled. In the early stages, information was analyzed using the SWOT model. Sampling was done by Cochran formula. Quantitative evaluation of land use in terms of per capita and criteria as well as its qualitative assessment in this study indicates that some of the existing uses are not quantitatively consistent with scientific norms and standards. Also, based on the results of the SWOT approach, strategies for improving the use of urban areas in the area of Eight are close to the aggressive strategies.
