Financial Resources of ISIS

With claims made to revive Islamic caliphate and extreme Islamic thoughts, the ISIS is financially supported by Arabic countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to find a reason for the motivation of the ISIS financial supporters. The purpose of the present paper is to discover the financial resources of the ISIS as well as the main reasons for the support of some countries in this regard. The findings demonstrate that financial resources of the ISIS backed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar include benefiting from illegal land occupation, bank robbery, extortion, gaining the control of refineries and oil reserves, as well as stealing properties. On the other hand, they are supported by individuals or non-profit organizations, foreign unlawful combatant, and their rich capitals in social networks. The purpose of all the ISIS-driven actions is to worsen endemic warfare in the region and stop the expansion of the influence of Iran in Iraq and Syria.
