Comparing the Ecotourism Capacities of Jazmoryan Area under Normal and Drought Conditions
Abstract:
With the expansion of urbanization and leisure time, the process of degrading natural, environmental, and cultural attractions is on the rise worldwide. The purpose of this paper is to identify the resources and capacities of ecotourism development in the Jazmorayan area in view of the limitations imposed on drought conditions and the explanation of the natural attractions of the this area in order to develop tourism in the region and the country. In this study, using SWOT model to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in terms overall drought and normal weight factors was used to determine the appropriate strategies in ecotourism, and strategies for the development of ecotourism in this region. The research findings showed that the strengths of the Jazmoryan area in normal conditions are due to natural attractions and geomorphologic forms, cultural heritage, indigenous culture, animal and vegetation diversity. The weaknesses also depend on the lack of proper advertising and environmental pollution, and the threats are the destruction of historical and natural monuments, cultural invasion and investment shortage. The resulting number 3/16 indicates that this area can be considered as one of the tourism poles in the event of proper planning and management. But, in drought conditions, targeted use of ecotourism capacities to create employment and reduce poverty in the context of forging a sense of self-esteem, as well as the customs and traditions of the people of this region have created special attraction. Providing ground for raising awareness of people about rare species such as Asiatic black bear and herbaceous species and the importance of protecting them will lead to identifying and using the potential competing with other recreational areas. Investment around these attractions can bring about the elimination of many threats and weaknesses in the region's tourism.
