Today, political parties are considered to be an important issue in societies. After the Islamic revolution, freedom of these parties has been discussed by Imam Khomeini and other Muslim jurists. It should be said that not only the emergence of parties can be traced in Islam and the holy Quran, but also they are considered to be a mean of implementing Islamic state. Having the Islamic juridical view on the relation between political party and freedom in the mind, more efforts should be allocated reviewing the subject. In this respect, main question was about the freedom of the so-called parties in the Islamic Republic of Iran from political jurisprudence perspective. The assumption of this paper was while Islamic political jurisprudence denies western model of parties, it obligates to form parties and NGOs since they are means of enjoining good (Ma’ruf) and forbidding wrong (Munkar). To analyze the subject more extensively, conceptual and theoretical approaches have been applied. Descriptive and analytical method has been used and books, articles and websites were reviewed. Note-taking was used to collect corresponding data.
