Patient satisfaction in university hospitals of Bandar Abbas University of medical sciences in 2015

Patient satisfaction is a function of several factors which require a supportive cooperation of the nursing staff, physicians and other related organizations. Therefore, the present research aimed to explore patients’ satisfaction in university hospitals of Bandar Abbas in 2015.
The present descriptive, analytical study was cross-sectional in design and its target population was the 400 patients staying in different wards of the university hospitals of Bandar Abbas. A simple randomization was followed until the required sample size was met and the data were collected through a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The collected data were analyzed via SPSS 19 and reported in frequency, percentage, standard deviation, ANOVA and chi-squared test. The level of significance was set at p The participants aged between 17 and 60 years. 238 person (5/59%) women and 162 (5/40 %) were male. Totally, The highest level of satisfaction was with the medical services (69%). The lowest level of satisfaction was with the physical space (20.5 %) Finally, 50% of the patients showed satisfaction with the services provided in different hospital wards.
The results showed a moderate level of satisfaction with different wards. The highest level of satisfaction was with the nursing and medical staff. It, therefore, appears that meeting patients’ expectations can be effective in increasing their satisfaction.
