The Analysis of Crime in the City of Rasht

The study on the mutual relationship between physical environments of cities with negative and abnormal social behaviour is a subject that has been added to geographical studies in recent decades and it has provided a scientific and practical framework for the space and spatial analysis of delinquency and abnormal study in a geographical space.
In the present study which has been carried out in the geographical scope of Rasht Metropolis, a geographic information system has been used comprehensively to identify and analyze the metropoli's hotspots of crimes. In addition to studying background research and theoretical literature of the study and discussing geographical and physical features of Rasht Metropolis which have been in connection with the subject of study, the status of committed theft and drug-related crimes within the legal limits of Rasht Metropolis was examined from April, 2014 to March, 2015. The analysis of crime occurrence and spatial distribution of the (crime) scene, such as proximity to the informal settlement areas, population density, rusty textures, administrative and educational centers, police stations, main squares, parks, slope of areas and bazaars was evaluated. Data analysis has been carried out by using GIS software and on the basis of AHP model.
The results indicate that the type of use and the use of land is effective on the formation and spatial distribution of crimes in Metropolis. In addition, the findings suggest that the spatial construction of "Golsar" first district and "Manzariyeh" second district in the city of Rasht has lowered the possibility of social and economic crimes compared.
