Gap analysis of the flight care students training based on the needs and demands of operating environments

The performance of Air Traffic Control personel as one of the sensitive professional jobs largely depend on the effectiveness of education of universities in this field.This research deal with Gap analysis of the Air Traffic Control students training based on the needs and demands of operating environments. The present research is applied by goal kind, and is explorative by the way gathering data, and is cross-sectional by time horizon, and is quantative resarch by data kind. In order to identify the indicators of gap analysis, documents, procedures and Annexes of ICAO, Air Force internal guidelines and the Civil Aviation Authority were investigated. Based on exploratory factor analysis, 15 factors were identified for gap analysis. The results of the data analysis by T-test showed that there is a significant gap between the components consist of comply with the Operating procedures, air traffic management applying, how to deal with emergency situations, knowledge of English and research activities and requirements of operating environments. Also, the minimum and maximum gap was associated respectively to components having the theoretical knowledge and knowledge of the English language.
