The effect of authoritarian education in the Iranian family on political culture in the second Pahlavi era

This article examines the role of authoritarian education in the Iranian family on the formation of Iranian political culture. The research method in this study is psychoanalysis, which means that the role of the unconscious elements in the formation of Iranian political culture is more than the components of consciousness. The basic premise of the research is that the educational method in the Iranian family is hierarchical, which is accompanied by specific requirements such as physical and psychological punishment and obedience. This makes the personality of the person not well advanced in the stages of natural growth and suppresses inferiority and personality failures, which in the same way shapes the political culture (taking into account the tyranny of the regime during the Second Pahlavi period) which gives it some special features. The most important of these were lack of trust, low participation, flattery, and proximity to power. At the same time, such a person is ready to dominate subordinates or lack of power as soon as power is obtained.
