Prediction of Subjective Welling and Coping Style Based on Personality traits among Students in Azad University

The purpose of this study was to predict subjective well-being and coping styles based on personality traits among college students in the University of Urmia. This study was conducted with a correlational method. The study population consisted of undergraduate students Islamic Azad University of Urmia. 370 subjects (200 men, 170 women) were selected using stratified random sampling method and completed personality characteristics, coping styles scales and mental well-being Questionnaire. Findings showed that were significant relationships between personality traits and mental well-being. Also there were significant relationship between neuroticism and positive affect, negative affect and life satisfaction, as well as extraversion, pleasant and life satisfaction. Findings also showed that personality traits could predict coping styles. So, it can be concluded that personality traits play a major rolein mental well-being and coping with stress.
