Health and Protection status of radiology centers of Bandar Abbas city in 2016

Employees of the health services are always exposed to contagious diseases, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and ergonomic hazards because of the nature of their work. This study was conducted to determine the health and Protection status of radiology centers of Bandar Abbas city in 2016.
This descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study was performed on 17 radiology centers of Bandar Abbas city. The data were collected using a standard checklist consisting of four indicators including facilities and safety, radiation protection, Physical place, and health status. The data were analyzed uding Spss version 18 software.
The highest score of the safety and health indicator was related to Jam radiology. Shahid Mohammadi Hospital had the highest score of physical place indicator and Seyyed Alshohada Hospital had the lowest score. In terms of the safety status, Iran Hospital had the highest score. The health index showed that the City health center and Jame Jam radiology had the highest scores. Shariati Hospital radiology had the lowest standard conditions score.
According to the results, training, periodic workers examinations, and promotion of awareness of employees about the risks of their work environment can be helpful in increasing the level of safety and health in radiology centers in Bandar Abbas.
