Identification of factors affecting the implementation of knowledge management in project- based organizations (structural equation modelling approach)

Given the importance of knowledge management in the construction industry, the present study aims to identify factors affecting the implementation of knowledge management in project-based organizations. In this regard, seven indices including organizational structure and culture, strategy and leadership, environmental factors, information technology, education, human resources regarding the opinions of experts are identified as the factors influencing the implementation of knowledge management. The statistical sample consists of 80 people who are working on the construction project of Paliz and Hitra. In order to collect the data, expert's opinion and questionnaire were used. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were reviewed and confirmed. Based on the views of the above mentioned experts, and by using SPSS and SMART PLS software the impact of the seven identified indices was proved as well as the significance of the indices effectiveness on knowledge management process. It is noteworthy that the result of this research can be applied to improve the performance of engineering services.
