A Study on the Meta-Analysis of Organizational Identity Consequences and Antecedents

This study identifies the consequences and antecedents of organizational identification using the meta-analysis approach. The study is descriptive based on the purpose and an applied one based on the type of use and it is quantitative according to data type. The study population included 100 dissertations, theses and organizational identity researches, of which 21 items were selected using non-random purposeful method for meta-analysis. The identification reliability confirmed through referees’ agreement in selecting and classifying the researches. The coding reliability was obtained by referees’ agreement on the use of specific concepts to code variables. Significance and effect size reliability was obtained by the agreement on effect size calculation between two meta-analyzers. Findings showed that among organizational identity antecedents, spiritual leadership, organizational indifference, organizational culture, socialization, job satisfaction, and authentic leadership have a high effect size (higher than 0.5). Also, among organizational identity consequences, organizational citizenship behavior, organizational silence (inverse relationship) and leaving work (inverse relationship) have a high effect size.
