New Formulation of Bull Semen Freezing Extender via Egg Yolk and Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate

During the semen cryopreservation, various biochemical and anatomical compartments in the sperm cells may be altered. Therefore, the most important part of sperm-freezing protocols is use of cryoprotectant agents in freezing. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different dosage of egg yolk (15, 20 and 25 %) as natural a cryoprotectant plus different dosage of sodium dodecyl sulphate (0, 0.05 and 0.1 %) as surfactant on quality cryopreserved Holstein bull sperm. In this study Semen was collected from three mature Holstein bulls twice a week using an artificial vagina and pooled ejaculates equally in order to eliminate the individual effects.
