Designing a framework for professional development of teacher educators in Farhangian University colleges of Isfahan

The main objective of this paper is designing a framework for professional development of teacher educators. Although, there are a lot of studies on professional development of teachers and faculty members, the professional development of teacher educators was rarely investigated in Iran.
In this research, we utilize qualitative research method by means of conceptual grounded theory. After interviewing with teacher educators, concepts and topics are extracted using open, axial and selective coding process.
Findings: In the framework of qualitative part, causal conditions are categorized in three classes of cognitive, behavioral and social abilities. Strategies and approaches are also grouped in three categories of teaching about teaching, learning about teaching and learning and teaching. Professional and social contexts affect casual conditions and strategies. The achievement of this framework is professional development of teacher educators that in addition of professional and social achievements, could become a start point towards the transformation of the educational system.
