A Study of the Role of Ali al-Akbar in the Karbala Episode, with special regard to the Rightfulness of the Movement

The present paper focuses on the character of Ali al-Akbar and his role in the great Karbala Episode. Despite being Imam al-Husayn's elder son and, ex officio enjoying a sublime place, his sense of seeking and defending the truth made his main concern. When he viewed that everybody was on the verge of encountering certain death, his noteworthy standpoint was expressive of his reaction whether they were rightful. The present paper postulates that appreciating the true sense of "right" in that historical context may shed light on the character of Ali al-Akbar as well as other personalities who played significant roles in that great episode.
