Sociological Explanation of Religious Identity among Students of Payamnoor University of Saghez

The article wants study religious identity and its social determinants. Religion as dynamic phenomena is the most important element of cultural identity in Iran also it has important role in shaping to identification of youth. According to Iran's young population, religious identity is much more important. Religious identity is most important element of social identity and has center role in identification of youth. The study population of this paper are students of Payamnoor University of Saghez in 2015, also sample size is 380 students of the university that they selected with stratified sampling method. Research method is survey. In order to gathering data, we used from questionnaire based on Likert scale. The findings show religious parents, religious friends and social solidarity have significant relationship with religious identity of students but media consumption (internet), socioeconomic status and gender haven’t meaningful relationship with that.
