Prediction of self-efficacy based on student learning styles

The purpose of this study was to predict self-efficacy based on the learning styles of high school students in Tehran. The participants consisted of 360 male students who were selected in a targeted manner. In order to collect information, the learning styles questionnaire (Kalb and Kalb, 2005) and self-efficacy questionnaire (Sherer et al., 1982) were used. Data were analyzed using correlation test and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that there is a significant correlation between the learning styles (objective experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active testing) with general self-efficacy. Multiple regression analysis showed that learning methods (abstract conceptualization and active testing) positively predict the male student's general selfefficacy.
