Leadership Style and Organizational Forgetting: Studying the Impact of Servant Leadership on Purposedfull and Unpurposedfull Organizational Forgetting

Abstract:
Today, the organizations face with the environments that the change is an integral feature of them; so organizational learning is a very important requirement for survival and competitive advantage. In this regard researches on organizational learning show that organizational forgetting is very important in learning process. So the identifying influential factors on organizational forgetting, is necessary. This paper studies the influence of leadership style on purposeful and unconscious process of organizational forgetting. The hypotheses have been tested in the Tehran Municipality region one. Questionnaire was the main instrument for gathering data. We analyze data based on Structural equation modeling. Results show that servant leadership facilitates the process of purposeful forgetting and has negative effect on unconscious process of organizational forgetting.
