The Application of Jin and Fine behavioral model in graduate student's information seeking behavior in Payame Noor University - Ahvaz Center

The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of Jane and Fine model in the information seeking behavior of graduate students of Payame Noor University-Ahvaz University.
The present study is descriptive-survey. The research population consisted of all students entering the Payame Noor University of Ahvaz from 1390-1392. Sampling method was stratified random sampling, which was used to determine the Cochran sampling formula and 142 people were estimated. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose reliability coefficient was calculated 0.89 using Cronbach's alpha formula. Data analysis was done using SPSS software using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Findings: Based on the results, the mean of all components (saturation principle, principle of objectivity or realism, the principle of least effort, the principle of familiarity, the principle of motivation, the principle of assurance, the principle of simplicity, the principle of conformance to the form) was higher than the average level. The results also showed that there is a significant difference between respondent's views only in terms of gender demographic variables. So that female students evaluated the components of "motivation" and "principle of assurance" more than male students.
The results of this research can be used to better understand the information behavior of graduate students of Payame Noor University-Ahvaz University, which is the basis for planning the future for providing information services.
