Designing a model of succession management system based on local-organizational indicators

The current research was conducted to identify the steps necessary to establish a succession management system in organizations. The statistical population of this research was senior experts and senior managers of Isfahan Steel Company, among whom a sample of 19 people was selected by snowball purposed sampling method and semi-structured interview was carried out. Then, field method based on the CVR and CVI questionnaire development was used to evaluate and content analyze the stages of establishment of successor-development system. After interviewing and identifying the main themes in this study, we developed a questionnaire based on indicators and sub-indicators of the themes. Data analysis in quantitative section was conducted by using SPSS software, while they were analyzed in the qualitative section by using thematic method based on the Clarke and Raven three-step coding (2006) through Nvivo software. Findings suggest that out of 32 sub-indicators extracted from interviews, 6 cases were removed due to non-validity and 26 indicators by measuring model and fitness indexes in lisrel software, were confirmed in the form of 7 main themes, taking place in process and gradual manner.
