Analysis of the content of financial corruption news on IRAN, IRNA and BBC Persian website in the first half of the year1395

This research with the aim of identifying the extent and the ways of covering economic corruption news in three websites belonging to IRIB News Agency, IRNA and BBC Persian. The researcher analyzed all news of the before mentioned websites, published in the first six month of 1395. Overall, 372 news (140 news from IRNA, 158 news from IRIB News Agency, and 74 news from BBC Persian web sites) were analyzed through quantitative content analysis. The result of this research indicates that astronomcal salary was the most important addressing subject by the websites. In minor issues, each of the three websites highlighted the topic which was in line with their media policy. Also, process-centered news were mostly used by these websites and the report was the most widely used format. In terms of news value and news elements, we can say that »prominence «news values and» Who «and» What« had the most frequency in three mentioned websites. Also, in the category of the organization related to the economic corruption, IRIB news agency, IRNA news agency and BBC Persian website dedicated the most frequency to bank and financial institute. According to the findings of the research, the reason mentioned in economic corruption news in IRNA News Agency was state-run economy, in IRIB News Agency was lack of law and in BBC Persian website were lack of law and weakness of supervisory agencies.
