THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE AND NURSES VIEWPOINTS ON REPORTING MEDICATION ERRORS IN KHORAM ABAD S EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS 2017

A medication error is any preventable event that may lead to patient harm. The Aim of this study was to determine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and nurse's viewpoints about Medication Error Reporting in Khorramabad’s Educational Hospitals in 2017.
This descriptive-analytic study was performed on 298 nurses working in Khorramabad’s educational hospitals in 2017 with a minimum bachelor of nursing and one year of clinical experience selected by Random Stratified Sampling. Data gathering tools consisted of King’s Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire and Gladstone modify Medication error questionnaire. After collecting data, data was analyzed by SPSS v. 21 using Descriptive and inferential statistics.

More than half of the nurses had a Medication error. The average of spiritual intelligence of nurses who reporting a medication error was more than those who did not report their medication errors. Improving spiritual intelligence can Increase Medication Error Reporting.
