The Role of Pilgrimage in Moral Training in Individual Dimension

Pilgrimage of God’s saints could be considered in various aspects such as the dimensions of belief, ethics, politics, training, etc. can be examined. One of the most significant aspects of pilgrimage is its training dimension; in particular, a pilgrimage which in addition to being present alongside God’s saint’s tomb, is accompanied by recitation of valid supplications and Ziaratnameh. Pilgrimage of God’s saints affects the pilgrim both individually and socially. In individual dimension, it removes heedlessness of pilgrim and he would be inspired by God. Attentiveness to everlasting divine power and existence of God’s grace mediators, creates hope in the soul of pilgrim and makes him hopeful to a nice future; trusting in God and his infinite mercy will be revived in his soul and he strengthens spirit of satisfaction and submission by himself by following God’s saints in the afflictions and difficulties and reconciling them.
