An Analysis of the Attacks of the Wahhabis upon Iraq in the Years between 1920 and 1932 A.D.

Wahhabis’ encroachment upon Iraq is not a new issue. Indeed, Wahhabism, right from its inception till it gained authority, has many times shown its hostility towards the holy Shrines; likewise, their first attack was launched on 1216 A.H. In this article, we have studied the course of the Wahhabi’s attacks on Iraq in the years between 1920 and 1932 A.D. Since, during those years, Iraq was a colony of England, studying the events of that era will uncover the realities that are useful in order to analyze the current developments and future prospect. This article is centered on the book entitled “the Wahhabi invasions” (al-Qazawaat al-Wahhabiyya) written by Abdul A’l Waheed Abud Isawi and it is considered as its detailed report.
