Explaining the role of sensoryscape components based on senses In quality of environmental sensory perception of New Arg of Tabriz

The five human senses are tools that make it possible to understand phenomena, environment and space around him. Because of the predominance of vision over other senses, environment designers often consider only visual sense in their design; unaware of the number of members of the community that are incapable of understanding the visual qualities. Creating visual dominance space that ignores audience’s perceptions, leads to physical architecture and urban environments that are unfamiliar for audience. The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the sensory scape components and the environmental sensory perception quality of the new Arg in Tabriz. This research is a quantitative research and in terms of data collection, is a kind of field research. The population of this research is all the audiences (residents, workers and visitors) that have passed this area during March 2016 to May 2017. The statistical population of this study was 42950 people. The sample size of this study is 380 people selected by simple random method. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The validity of questionnaire was approved by the member of experts. The reliability of questionnaire was obtained 0/8530 by using Cronbach’s alpha formula. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed that between components of sensory scape and quality of environmental perception of New Arg of Tabriz there is significant relationship at a confidence level of 99%. The results of linear regression test indicated that sense of touch, hearing, taste, sense of smell and sight at the end have the greatest role in environmental perception of this pass; and these five variables have the ability to account for 60.6% of the variance. Finally, with regard to the findings of the research, practical suggestions have been made regarding the practical solutions for improving the sensory quality of the environment.
