The Impact of Factors Affecting on Air Pollution with an Emphasis on Nuclear Energy

The existence and emission of one or more pollutants, including solid, liquid, gas, radioactive sources in the open air in an amount and duration which makes it harmful to humans and the environment, is called air pollution. Of the most important air pollutants is the carbon dioxide which is the reason for climate change and global warming and is known as cross-border pollution. This gas among plays a major role in creating air pollution. Industrialization process has led to massive exploitation of fossil fuels for production and transportation, and ultimately has led to the release of considerable amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. So, the main aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of effective factors on CO2 emissions as an indicator of air pollution with an emphasis on nuclear energy in selected countries within the time period 2004-2015. We provide the estimation of the model using fixed effects in selected countries within the time period 2004-2015. Real GDP and economic liberalization have a significant and positive effect and the quality of governance and use of nuclear energy have a significant and negative effect on emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) as an indicator of air pollution in the selected countries.
