The Durability of Validity of Imamate Proofs, at the Time of Occultation (The Necessity of Imamate, a Truth beyond the Age of (Imam Mahdis) Presence)

Theology and Islamic Sciences In the clear thought of Imamites, the existence of Imam is necessary after the Prophecy, with the rational and traditional evidences. But one of the main doubts is that how the necessity and benefits of such scientific authority at the age of Occultation is justified. And how steadfast and efficient these evidences are at the period of Occultation? In order to consolidate the belief in Imamate and strengthen the belief in Mahdism and consequently, the preservation of divine teachings, the validity of these evidences requires rethinking and rational analysis. The current paper, with a rational and transactional approach and with a look at historical notions observing reality, holds the logical and persuasive responses to the compatibility of the proofs of necessity of Imamate with the absence of a living waiting Imam. Among the proofs are: the continuation of the duties of the Prophet (PBUH) and the abolition of the mission of Prophecy without the appointment of a successor and the assignment of states; the need for the Muslims to use the original heritage of the Prophet and the innumerable possessions of the infallible Imam; the need of the universe, especially the human being to the (existence of ) mediator of (Divine’s) grace; the need for the continuation of the legislative guidance; the spiritual guidance of hearts at the period of Occultation; as well as the educational effects of the doctrine of Waiting.
