Study of the Relationship between Resilience of Supply Chain and Competitiveness of the Countries Using Canonical Correlation Analysis

Continuous and rapid changes in today's world have led to increased competition. Competitiveness is the set of institutions, policies, and factors that determine the level of productivity of an economy, which in turn sets the level of prosperity that the economy can achieve. Competitiveness is a multi-dimensional concept and one of its dimensions is the degree of adaptability with unexpected changes in the business environment, which is somehow associated with competitiveness. Resilience focuses on the development of adaptability to prepare for unpredictable disruptions and to respond to disturbances and recovery from them. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between resilience and competitiveness of countries using canonical correlation analysis. The findings indicate a positive, significant and strong relationship between resilience and competitiveness, and the average of the power of the resilience set to predict the changes in the competitiveness set is estimated to be high. In the resilience set, the "supply chain" is the highest and "risk quality" has the least effect on creating a significant relationship between resilience and competitiveness. In the competitiveness set, all three variables "basic requirements", "performance enhancers" and "innovation and business sophistication” are almost equally effective in creating a significant relationship between resilience and competitiveness.
